This feels a lot more powerful than Extort, just at a glance. I'm also not sure I like the extort-technology in a set that isn't so focused on two color combinations - it feels weirder, here.

I think I agree. I think the mechanic itself is fine, but I don't think I like it in this 'non-colors matter' set. I do think it is workable though.
