History:

2013-03-12 10:38:03: Alex created the card Swarmlord

Created for Challenge # 071. His abilities don't go together. One wants you to have a swarm of lots of creatures; the other actively works against that aim to instead give you one big creature.

I was thinking of this as a card that could have gone in Ravnica / Return to Ravnica: Selesnya like one side of it, Golgari like the other.

But his abilities do both have synergy with token-making cards or other cheap swarmy creatures. It's something like Rix Maadi Guildmage: you choose which of the two abilities to use based on the current circumstances... but in this case it's more likely that you'll have built your deck to capitalise on one side or the other of him.
