Yeah. I talked about Legendary Commons on Ibok's Eartalker but don't go there yet. I want a raw opinion. What do you think of this?
To be honest, I don't like it. The very word "legendary" screams at least uncommon status. Common and legendary feel like antonyms.
At common, they'll keep self-destructing in Limited play (if you're worried about draft-ability). Flavor-wise, there shouldn't be common Legends. It's just weird.
I'm aware it seems weird. It's a pity that the word we use isn't 'Unique'... then there wouldn't be a real problem.
I had problems with this being one of the "Legendary Commons" of the set, but for different reasons. Bonesplitter is very good, but I could see people not drafting a third if it was Legendary... it drops in value as you draft. That means that everyone at the table will eventually have one... which is kind of against the point. I wasn't thinking about them constantly blowing up... you're right on the money with that. If I'm to do this trick, it can't be Bonesplitter I guess. Like the flavor text, though. I'll probably just make a piece of equipment an axe later.
