Magic's has a notable division of caninae for types: dogs (formerly hounds), wolves, jackals, and foxes. South American canids in truth do not fit into any of these categories, though they have common names often-based on creatures from the old world. All canids in this set would specifically be in Cerdocyonina, but that's just not a common or intuitive term.
For this I am unlikely to update the previous types of creatures in this block, but moving forwards I will simply use Canid as a blanket term for all Cerdocyonina.
