Welcome back! I used to have a deck based around Unifying Theory. It was great! My opponent just couldn't resist the allure of paying {2} to draw that extra card... right into my Force Spikes and Miscalculations. Plus I got to pay {2} when I cast those spells to draw new cards!

This isn't quite that, though, since the timing is different. I need you to name this card and the creature type. I have two notes though:

Developement doesn't want this to be a Wizard, since Wizard tribal is broken right now.

Brand doesn't want this to be a Monger because it would remind people of Masques block. Honestly, most of brand doesn't have a problem with it, but Steve just won't shut up about it. Dammit Steve!

Otherwise, go at it!

This is wish granting djinn.

... I honestly want to give this the terrible terrible pun name "Willsmith". I mean, maybe I can get away with it because of the "crafts a spell for you" aspect. But we all know that's not why.

I would say Tragic Poet but unfortunately that name has already been used. :D

:innocent_whistling:

Stalking Djinn. Djinn. "They're not 'unlimited wishes' unless everyone can make them. What are you complaining about?"

Information Brokers. Merfolk Scout. Picture: A merfolk sitting on a rock with a book, luring a ship closer :)

Tidings Elemental. Elemental. What's new that will be washed ashore?

Hm... I kind of want to make an Advisor, but humans aren't 4/4s

maybe an illusion? there could be some flavor there.

Illusion Advisor could reference that it's not a real advisor (not loyal) because it helps your opponents?

Maybe, Consul's Phantasm? Shimmering Tribunal? Could just be cool to see a world where the ruling class is a senate run by after-images of past leaders... the {u} could use magic to make illusions of them, while {b} could create zombies... {w} could have them return as Archons upon death... pretty neat stuff, could be a multi-flavored plane, with each area having a specific cultural twinge... Or, they could all be roman/greek/latin

So, yeah, Consul's Phantasm or Shimmering Tribunal. or a similar name :)

I looked at the card and thought Knowledge Broker, and then sadly see Jack already basically got there :P Mine would be a Giant Advisor. I mean, it'd be a Giant Merchant if we could persuade Wizards to create a Merchant type, but absent that it's an Advisor.

Okay, decent body and it untaps islands. Maybe something less humanoid. Mono-blue. Turtles are cool. No keywords. Paying to draw. Turtles are sometimes depicted as wise, and Magic often uses the hand to represent intellect or the mind. Whales are big, and so are some fish, but they ain't jivin' this feel. A serpent fits with the island part maybe, but no real relation to the draw. Okay, turtle for the type.

This turtle is getting people to draw cards though, so this turtle needs a cool name. Anyone can draw, so it it sounds like this turtle just doles out the wisdom to whomever asks them. This turtle sounds like a sage, but sage isn't exciting enough. Knowledge of the world- ancient truths. Hmm.

You know, Information Broker/Knowledge Broker probably would have been my choice. But they're too close to Lore Broker, an actual card with a similar mechanic. So they lose points from being (maybe) accidentally derivative.

I really love Willsmith. But I got to admit that it's probably a different djinn. Something that feels like it's smithing will. We'll save it for another card.

Given the rest of the answers, I'm going to give this one to Sorrow. Mostly because of how Sorrow convinced himself that this must be a turtle. I just find the idea of arguing with oneself, creating problems, and realizing the answer to all of their problems is a turtle to be kind of funny.
