New silliness added to Mashup: the Gathering! This card is a mashup of RaiseDeadSliver and Aquaformation. The two cards were chosen at random by going to Multiverse's main page and choosing the first and last randomly selected cards displayed there.

I don't know how many of these I'll end up including in Mashup: the Gathering Alpha. It's a nice tribute to the website, but too many of them will probably annoy anyone who sees the set and doesn't frequent Multiverse. Maybe 5-10. Maybe I'll come back and do a Magic: the Gathering - Multiverse at some time. Too far down the road.

As for the card itself? Actually, I rather like it. It looks wild and chaotic, but when you play it all the creatures are going to turn into one thing and stay that way no matter how many creatures die... at least until another creature enters the battlefield and dies. So it looks wacky and therefore unplayable, but doesn't force everyone to have such insane memory issues like you would think it would. Works for me.

Oop. I'm a dope and should probably attribute. I know that you can find that RaiseDeadSliver was designed by DrugsForRobots and that Aquaformation was designed by L2i0n0k7 by clicking on the links above, but I should still spell it out here as well.

Gleep. Bwahaha. That will do utterly mad things to the board, which is precisely what should be done by one or two blue rares per set.

...Although actually, it's not quite as mad as I thought at first, because the first thing to die sets what everything else will turn stuff into as well. Apart from newly cast creatures, I suppose...

Haha. Crazy stuff. It reminds me of Essence of the Wild.

Also weird: This + Flamebreak = Wrath of God in 99.9% of the scenarios. Sure, the damage was officially dealt to your Darksteel Colossus who has 11 tougness, but when the dust clears, that Colossus will be a 3/3 Weird without indestructibility and with 3 damage on him.

A way to abuse this event? Play with Silver Knight. By the time everything hits the yard, he'll be a Weird with no Protection from Red, but the Pro Red will have already prevented the damage to him.
