Ooh. Good idea Vitenka.

One alternative to uploading a card a day would be to upload the lot in one go; and bring a card-a-day to people's attention by commenting on it (bumping it to the top of the recent changes page: http://multiverse.heroku.com/cardsets )

On Fall of Asgard:

As a quick rule of thumb, also, Anthony, you may want to get used to people saying "Card X is too expensive". I've noticed it happens in other design forums as well. With most players, they will think a card is 'okay' if it's as good as the cards in their best deck, and will 'like' a spell only if it is better than every other option. For people who design a lot of cards, however, we have a tendency to look at the big picture, and know that not every card can be the most powerful card. When I first saw Sage's Advice, my first thought was "What was wrong with Regress"? I don't think many non-designers would have thought the same thing, since Regress is just the run-of-the-mill staple.

That's not to say we aren't interested in having the discussion. This place if full of people who like and don't like things. That's good... I mean, I assume you like honest feedback, and not just a pat on the back, right? ;)

But, you will notice I did say 'first time'. I did glance through the cards, and I did consider this post to be spam before we had a discussion. Post cards on Multiverse and you'll get feedback. I'd suggest doing it slowly... I generally add one card a day. Most people don't notice when you've uploaded multiple cards, so the feedback potential is wasted.

You don't have to. Only around empty fields or those that actually contain a comma (like "Garruk, the Veil-Cursed").

There have been a couple of bugs with the CSV importer reported recently. I've reproduced them easily enough but been having difficulty tracking down the cause. But in the meantime, if people have a CSV file they want adding to a set, drop me an email and I'll do a manual database update with the contents for you.

On Fall of Asgard:

Wait, you're supposed to put quotes around each field? No wonder I've never gotten it to work!

On Fall of Asgard:

The bulk upload expects you to have cards in some spoiler format, eg.

"Avernum Gate","","{2}{w}","","Creature","Wall","common","Defender // Exiled creatures may not return to the battlefield, they remain in exile.","What's on the other side? Who cares, as long as it stays there.","1","4","","","","White",""

Then you describe that format: Name, , cost, type, subtype, rarity, rules, flavour, power, toughness, , , ,colour,

And it turns that into a whole load of cards for you.

Alternately, hit "New card" a lot, and duplicate the card (you can point at the existing card-art too)

That way is better for getting comments; upload a card every day and see what people say.

On Fall of Asgard:

Sorry I wasnt meaning to spam. I have these 2 sets completed and obviously I want them commented on. The upload process on here confused me... Help please?

On Fall of Asgard:

Yeah, it's kinda missing the point of Multiverse to just post a link to the whole set here.

One of the key benefits of Multiverse is that individual cards each have their own comment "thread" and you can discuss one or two cards separately from the cardset as a whole.

For example: Your Sage's Advice is strictly better than Repulse, and Repulse was pretty good back in its day.

You might want to respond to that comment. That'd be much more easily done if you had individual card records for each card, rather than cluttering up this one comment thread with comments on each card, all jumbled up together.

On Fall of Asgard:

Ok; my comment is: Put a card (or cards) here and I'll comment on them. Leave this the way you have and it feels like spam.
