Wow, did Thundersong Trumpeter really need such a nerf? Add mana, and make it a much less aggressive size? I mean, he was alright, but he wasn't a powerhouse of the Boros deck (that would probably be Skyknight Legionnaire and Rally the Righteous).

I was thinking about keeping it 2/1... no, it wasn't the -best- boros common, but Trumpeter was still an extremely good tapper in common and I'm not a huge fan of when there are commons that are complete head and shoulders above the other ones. I'm also kind of a fan of making a tapper that has two different activated abilities since it makes you plan your turn out and tap your mana correctly.

In general, I'm not looking to make RW overall worse in this set (I don't think it was made good enough in the original), but I'm looking to make the commons overall closer in relative power level to each other.

I think it's fine to add mana as a tweak, but I think this could be 2/1 or even 2/2 to make up for that. (Assuming you're still planning on having Boros be aggro.)

Yeah, maybe. :) Well, I'll make it 2/1 for now and then whenever I get around finishing the set, I'd like to do some drafts with it to see how it all plays out. But yes, you're probably right that making it 2/1 works better overall.
