Doesn't absorb need a number?
Under the current canonical rules, yes, but I sometimes use "absorb red", "absorb non-Spirit" etc. which is just the damage prevention subset of protection.
And "absorb" without any qualifier just means "If a source would deal damage to this, prevent that damage." (see Empty Body) That is basically what all Gideons have.
