  This complex ability is an attempt to avoid the issue of the Archetype cycle. Since a temporary replacement effect is issued, any use spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping shouldn't be an issue as the indestructible should skip because of the instead.

  Considering it costs 6 mana and requires to cast, the restriction to basic Islands rather than just any land seems harsh. Honestly, I think it could just untap up to two target permanents and it still wouldn't seem that impressive to me - regardless of it being a common or not.
