In traditional mtg lango those cards wouldn't be "discarded" per se, but put into your graveyard.

This could be mono- - the isn't necessary; the effect is quite reminiscent of Mulch and Satyr Wayfinder. That ain't super harmful to the design either though so if you are pushing for these wedges I guess it's fine.
