Background

The wedge is an inquisitive explorer. It focuses on finding new and wild uses for mana. Its presence on Valkri is purely benevolent. Mechanically, it is represented by ripple, which represents the close link its spells have with the æther.

Vacila the Shifting

Vacila is a native of Iquatana, a plane saturated with æther. The Iquati's bodies are supersaturated with æther, causing their outlines to be somewhat undefined. Because the Iquati are artificially grown, they can't normally possess the spark. Vacila gained its spark during an unfortunate encounter with a visiting planeswalker.

Inquisitive by nature, Vacila began exploring the multiverse. Most planes seemed barren to it, but it when it discovered Valkri and the Turbulence, it knew it had found a paradise of wild mana. Vacila's goal is to protect Valkri from invasion from the other four planeswalkers.
