I like it a lot more without that last conditional, though. Are things like the orrery really enough to worry about?
While I usually treat phy mana as when working out how valid a card is; I suspect "pay 12 life" is enough that you're going to need to use at least some black for it.
> "Maybe it just needs some different implementation. Like, I dunno, "Search your library and cast Atraxa Tribal Sorceries with combined casting cost up to the mana you spent to cast ~" and then the complexity can live in the companion cards?
Would have the downside of being unbelievably parasitic, of course. Like "Are we playing yu-gi-oh yet?" levels."

A marker starts on the marked (blacked out) circle of the track.
At the beginning of the untap step if a permanent with a marker on the track is already untapped they move the marker on each track one step to the right.
"N◅" means "Move a marker N spaces on its track to the left." and appears as cost may appear as effect.
"N▻" means "Move a marker N spaces on its track to the right." and may appear as effect.
Concerns:
The untapped requirement to move on the track may be unnecessary or even harmful as it promotes holding back your creature rather than going on the offense and push the game forward.

Trustworthy Scout still inspires half the designs I make these days. ^.^
This card lacks even the slightest bit of flavor justification.

second ability: "before">>"after"
This is certainly a lot more succinct than
> At the beginning of your upkeep, put a charge counter on ~ if there are fewer than N charge counters on it.
> Remove two charge counters from ~: ...
Reminds me of Chowlett's Accumulate as seen on Cisaean Earthcaller etc.
I think I like your variant except for the untapped requirement.

Nice.
I love that flavour text. And the card design is pretty cool too.
