Once you take some [Storyline Drug] it'll make more sense.
Dan, is that you?
"Investigation indicates the suspect was after medical research data and shipping manifests for [Storyline Drug]."
The current end of the sentence is overly vague, especially if this is somehow important to the story. We can either interpret "supplies" as being "medical supplies" or "random supplies", neither of which is really suggestive of why someone cares about what is in the safe. But give those supplies a name, and BAM! Our brains can start imagining what that Named Substance does and why someone cares where it got sent.
Fixed the flavor text. Surprisingly key to the story.
I support that instinct.
The more I look at this card, the more I just want to make it some dumb vanilla creature.
I think you just want "Target creature must be blocked by two or more creatures this turn if possible." As written, while Master Warcraft certainly exists, this falls into "too many words to describe a relatively mundane and infrequently relevant effect" territory.
And while true, I still wasn't happy with how it was working as a whole.
Nice card. I think it could be more simply worded, as per Hunt Down:
> Choose one - Target creature blocks target creature this turn if able; or target creature can't block target creature this turn.
It’s an entirely new kind of take on black life gain, but I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch. Black gets lifelink, it has Abattoir Ghoul, it has (or had) Drain Life. This vampire effectively drains information.
This is the kind of “integrated vampire” I’ve been wanting to build. I feel like in the right society and under the right condition, there’s got to be situations where their abilities can be put to a productive use. They use their skills to their advantage, but aren’t necessarily (all) psycho-killers and criminals. They’re probably still cold and emotionless, but good at what they do.
