I am inclined to up the damage/life gain to 2 and adjust the cost accordingly to get a theme of "2" going.
'Drain damage' has been established in
and 
identities, which is already somewhat questionable as they are so far apart from each other, but stretching that mechanical theme to yet another mix (
) doesn't feel good to me at all.
