This reads pretty underwhelmingly. I can see this being too good at 3cc, but does the ability need to remove the counters? Maybe it'd be better off being a smaller protection effect?
I'm not super happy with this design, its supposed to mirror Knight of the Old Ways
Maybe remove a counter from something to give it double strike until end of turn?
