For a common, there's no way it makes more sense to have this weird ability rather than just be a 7/7.
But if it didn't have this weird ability, my Castle and Fortifyes are less effective! D:
This is not a red effect.
How so? Also, what makes this ability any more white, green, or black, aka Doran, the Siege Tower?
White and black (and blue) at least have traditions of having high toughness. Red really doesn't.
And with the Abzan, we at least see something of a theme with those colors caring about toughness. There's not a ton of mechanical precedent. It's more of a "feel" thing. I would expect red to get Fitness Maniac (pardon the awful templating) rather than Doran, the Siege Tower.
