Erk. I really like Mirroria, but I'm not sure mixing split cards, level-up cards and flip cards into the mix is a good idea. (Any set can have full-art basics or vanillas for a bit of extra splash.) Even enchantment creatures with Theros's sparkly frame and Miracle cards with their flashy frame wouldn't simplify things (quite the reverse).

re Mirroria: I would think having all DFC is 1. too much of one gimmick 2. new rules forced to work with instants and sorceries 3. even more difficult to play with because half of every card are hidden and having to flip back and forth would be tedious 4. consider the logistics if using checklist style cards for all cards in the set.

only thing with all nonstandard frames is that instants and sorceries would only fit on split cards. we can expand it to include miracles and even flashback ala Odyssey style. this would simplify things because permanents and non permanents would not share frame types. except maybe full frame art i'm thinking could be used also for instants and sorceries that are reprints and have simple rules texts.

i also wonder if using token style frames for regular spells are a good idea. they can be used as tokens and can be put in the deck, however this could be confusing when trying to distinguish cards and tokens in game and even during deck-checks. fortunately real cards have mana cost, so maybe it could work.

The truth is, this isn't that hard to do, if you allow for a number of non-functional frames. You have at your disposal:

  • Full art vanillas, as mentioned
  • Full art with some text over it for iconic spells, like Condemn
  • Reprints with old frames
  • Color shifted cards with color shift frames from Planar Chaos
  • Future shifted cards for cards that 'break the fourth wall of the game'
  • Enchantment Artifacts, like in Theros
  • Planeswalkers

That, of course, dosn't even include all the stuff that doesn't exist yet. Though, I get the impression that you can only use a light touch of that in this set, you could probably get away with a new non-standard frame on about 10 cards in this set/30 in this block.
