Part of the rare artifact cycle that supports one color, as seen on Lightning Rod. I knew this card was good, but man, when I saw it played, it was very, very good in set. Limited loves board sweepers, and a set half built around Wisdom goes gaga over this effect. The fact that you could sit back, wait for your opponent to make a last ditch effort, then respond by casting a random instant to wipe the board was almost magical. I'm looking through the set list, and it's a pity I didn't add any perfect cards to cast through this, like Angel's Mercy. That's fine. The card doesn't need any more synergy than "Play White."

Reminds me of Plague Boiler.

Any old big white fatty is particularly nice to cast as the last spell to trigger this, because if I read it right it'll Wrath with the fatty on the stack.

Oh, yeah, true. The card only popped up occasionally, and the person who played it was playing a bunch of instants, so the most obvious trick didn't occur to me.
