I selected Thermal Lance and Random Generator gave me Temporary Truce. Tricky. Originally, I had something along the lines of "Whenever an opponent gains 2 or more life, draw a card"... but then I realized that the equipment didn't need to be equipped for the ability to work... and it seemed silly to force an artifact to be equipped to get an effect to happen.

Which doesn't go a long way to defend this card, I realize. I like the idea going into this card, and I think it all works well, it just isn't green, I suppose. It's not very blue, either. It stretches white and black's color wheel as well, and red is right out.

It's still a colorless artifact that only nods at green, but that still makes it feel green... I don't know. Opinions?

Black or green both deal with card-draw and lifegain, so I think it's okay in either of those. It's a fun little Johnny puzzle. Only thing is that if I solve the puzzle, giving my opponent some life somehow, then my reward is an ability which makes the +2/+2 useless. Unless this is on a vigilant cat like Mirri, Cat Warrior, I suppose.

But then once I start attacking with it, I take away the condition... hmm...

I guess if I look at it as a multiplayer card, it's fine.

Still makes a fine blocker. I'd pull the power and make it purely toughness, but it feels a bit too much like I'm telling the player how they should play this card. I like the stress a little better of just squaring the p/t.

Instead of hexproof, it could grant vigilance, thereby fixing the problem. Since it's rare, it could do both, maybe?

Kemba, Kha Regent really wants to use this in EDH, but is sad that she no can haz cheezburger.

Well, she can, but only under the generalship of someone like Gaddock Teeg.

Was "Cat's Paw", but the set has no cats. Instead, I took a look at Green and noticed there was a number of druids (including two Druid Warriors) so I chose that instead. Changed Hexproof to vigilance. Don't know why I didn't use Dude's suggestion earlier... guess I was distracted.
