Colorshifted Divination, except strictly worse. Usually on this front of card draw, black beats out blue by its efficiency in getting a discount with drawbacks. Compounded by the fact that Divination is a card that has been sidelined several times as is (in that strictly betters of it already exist; Field Research, Jace's Triumph, Winged Words, etc), just make this feel kinda sad.
That aside, shouldn't this say "...you lose 2 life" not "... you lose two life"? (Sign in Blood and the like for example)
Yeah, not my favorite from among the seed cards. It doesn't feel like just adapting the cost can fix this unless or is just fine.
Maybe adding Scry into the mix, but it loses some elegance that way.
I like the "Lose life unless low on life"-thing this does though.
If we go strongly by precedent then is not fine since it's strictly better Night's Whisper and that card is already solid. seems plausible since it's like better Sign in Blood when used on yourself but it loses the mode to target your opponent with it - how minor that mode is to be considered is up for debate.
If we start considering scrying, to me it makes me think of Read the Bones - maybe even a reprint of it would do? This depends really on what specific purpose / role the card is to fulfill. Like for example how splashable it's intended to be for limited archetypes - or is it to be more of "monocolor reward" - in which case whether it has double- in its cost or not is relevant.
