Mithys Flavor | Skeleton |
Mithys is a fusion of a few ideas, the most prevalent of which being a desire to create Temur-aligned Werewolves (yeah, I know, it sounds weird). Along with that desire however, came an idea for a Vampire mechanic, an interest in Innistrad's design, love for odd tribes, and a desire to build a world with monsters and humans fighting on even ground in a sense.
The Werewolves of Mithys are a fusion of the werewolves of Innistrad, a less murdery Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide, Arlinn Kord, and the Jeskai and Temur clans from Khans of Tarkir, they consist of the Temur color pairing, like the real Temur, but are based in blue, like the Jeskai. They are not all wild beasts, they are scholars that seek to create a perfect form, and to them, the best possible combination is the body of a beast and the mind of a scholar, hence the duality of their forms.
The Vampires of Mithys are a fusion of Licia from Commander 2017, the Vampire families of Innistrad, the religious fervent of the Church of Avacyn, and of the Vampiric empire of Ixalan. These vampires exist in Mardu colors, centered in white.
The Faeries of Mithys are a fusion of the faeries from Eldraine, the faeries from Shadowmoor and Lorwyn, the Izzet guild, and a desire to not use all the same tribes as Innistrad. The Faeries are in Jeskai, centered in red.
The Merfolk of Mithys are a fusion of the Merfolk of Ixalan, the Sultai brood of Tarkir, the Golgari and Dimir guilds, Multani, and Liliana. These Merfolk are a loosely defined empire that has begun to expand its borders. Each member seeks to warp the world to fit their needs the best and each have a unique connection to the rivers and ocean of the world. They exist in Sultai colors, centered in green.
The Humans of Mithys are a fusion of the humans of both Innistrad and Ikoria, the sun empire of Ixalan, the Church of Avacyn, the Selesnya Conclave and Orzhov Syndicate, the xenophobia and eugenics filled Yagmoth (thankfully only a bit), and the Innistrad Humans view of Werewolves. They are aligned within Abzan colors, centered in black.
