well yeah it's clearly OP, but it's also a neat take on vanishing. i don't think you can really expect balanced cards from the robot right now so all we should really be doing is examining the card concept. and i quite like this one
Kind of OP in a convoke deck, though. Four creatures on turn two? That's curve breaking.
Ha
Pretty cool, actually.
That actually...makes a lot of sense. Quite the nedicated robot. Maro would love this.
You don't know what Shidi Hughtor does. It might say that whenever someone takes it from you, they got to buy you a drink...
That's what I thought. I suspect this ability would be as about as well received as ante. :P
So if you can grant this thing flash, and your opponent happens to be attacking with a creature that doesn't actually exist, you can have it.
Maybe you gain ownership but not control?
Wait, like take ownership of it?
Actually, this would be a pretty spectacular land if it could cast a land of the same name. That would get you around the one land per turn limit, but still be limited by the number of times you could do it. Bonus points for the fact that combo decks really need colored mana to go off.
I wonder if someone in Wizards has thought of this yet. For balance reasons, probably something closer to:
Bubbling Crude
: Add
to your mana pool.
,
: Put a land named Bubbling Crude on the battlefield, tapped.
Land
Yeah. That would be nifty.
Shifting Borders deck?
Yay! The robot finally made a land with mana ability! Never mind the fact it's useless as hell.
always loved the the apprentice cycle from invasion, this takes me back
would play
Make the first ability
, add a toughness point, and maybe change the class to wizard, and you have a perfect Jeskai agro card.
Yes, this falls in the "pretty good, actually" category.
Fair point.
"Dwarf it."
A true masterpiece.
It's really more of a 34-drop. You have to Quicken it.
It's true that the name is astonishingly appropriate.
What I'm amazed by is the name. Most of the robot's names are utter gobbledygook. The name implies some sort of stone gauntlet, which falls in red's domain. And, it makes sense that the person using dangerous geomancy would be protected from their spell, while everything else is hit.
Or it would be on color if it said, "Target creature deals 1 damage to each other creature."
Well, it would be on-color for a
card.
A cantrip that is both flavorful and on-color. Not bad. Adjust the cost, swap the first two effects, and you have a decent card.
Note: Yes, that is supposed to be a 32 in the mana cost.
This card is exactly what blue-agro decks have needed for their 33-drop. :P
Aside from the P/T, this doesn't seem unfeasible.
