Combat-based removal is a typical uncommon under NNWO.
Well, now that I think about, red flagging all nonbasic lands would have a lot of merit. It's likely that less enfranchised players, initially at least, think in terms of "I must tap 3 untapped Forests to cast this Leatherback Baloth" rather in the abstractions of mana pools.
On the other hand, ignoring mana abilities in this regard could be reasonable as well, since the other red flags of "no activated abilities" and "only sorcery speed" try to enforce an environment where mana is only used on your main phases to pay for stuff.
That's why I go with "technically". I just follow the letter of the law.
Basic lands... are an interesting case for multiple reasons:
I personally would exempt the six basic mana abilities from red-flagging, but such an exception is not yet on the book.
I like this - it's somewhat simplified variation of Crackling Doom.
I think equipment are at least more prone to being red flags, if not outright such, in NWO as well.

Wait, so, would basic lands be red flags as well?

IMO slightly simpler than Unknown Shores.
Technically Red Flag due to activated ability - though this is the most basic variant of a mana ability.

We're on our way. I invite anyone to check the skeleton and comment on missed red flags and problematic cards etc.
Terrible idea. Come up with something better quickly!

Heh, that's kind of funny.
I would be okay with pumping this up onto a rare slot.

Wait; seriously? Are they going to be at least printing boosters of nothing but rares?
NNWO includes that NWO is applied to uncommon (something I did not recall either until re-reading the article recently), so this is indeed going to receive a Red Flag at uncommon for using
.
My point is that both versions have a different actual timing than targeting - which is an issue, because the timing of targeting has been designed around the way players expect spells to work.
It's more natural to expect opponent's choices for sacrificing creatures to happen during resolution than your own choice.
Echoing courage IMO would be better using a template that does not target, but at the same time that doesn't necessarily mean it's also NNWO good.
I currently have a similar issue with Explore which seems fine, but has its instructions 'out of order' from a best practice perspective.
I would imagine so.
