now no longer targets your own creatures for unintended double-drawback
This is an Innistradi stitched corpse construct with the original souls of the dead used in its creation still hanging around the flesh golem.
Mechanically this is a member of the white-blue tribe and the blue-black tribe and hence the common color of both tribes.
The ability includes the "ETBT" theme introduced for Innistradi Zombies (found in both blue and black, though felt more in black IMO) and the theme of Innistradi Spirits to tap your opponents' creatures.
Nice little rules corner-case: Played on an empty board this doesn't tap down an opponent's creature, but also doesn't ETBT itself. I think that's fair.
Is Farmer or Peasant going to make it into my extended list of creature types? Chances are not bad after seeing how often I go to that particular theme.
Secret behind the thread: I actually just wanted to test reactions to "bury" and put some crazy ideas alongside it. :)
This is not the first time I have thought of it, but basically the time I started to form a strong opinion over using "bury" again as a keyword action.
It took a while to make up my mind on whether it should still be possible to use it as removal every now and then in place of exile on black cards.
Nowadays I just don't design cards like that anymore - knowing its technically fine with the rules.
I was onto rummaging for a long time with a keyword action I called "flux". The greatest difference was that I also pondered allowing red to use this ability offensively.
Using an existing keyword ability-turned-action is just one flavor. Though this goes wild with certain cards that trigger when you cycle them.
First mode functional: "Token creatures you control get +1/+1 UEOT." >> "Create a Human token."
Second mode functional: "prevent all damage to it" >> "gains indesructible"
Third mode functional: "Vampire" >> "creature"; "damage" >> "combat damage to players"
I recall avoiding token creation in the original ability sets, so I would have a fallback mechanic if I dislike a design too much. Putting it here for now.
Both of its abilities and its creature type indicate ...
I think first strike can be used in assassins (or such) that are really pushing for those flavor points. I'm not particularly liking it in this design.

Gotta love when the name of a card is its creature types.

This misses the crucial "you may" twice.
Nowadays this might also be able to "dash" an illusion. ;)

You can see that I hate land destruction. Yet I made this card.

Forestcycling as a cost seems ill-advised. But "tutor" is still something floating around under other names.

Not happy yet with mode number three. Maybe "Target creature gains first strike and reach UEOT."?

Sounds much better, yes.
Maybe as a triggered ability on entering the battlefield?

Looking repeatedly at your opponents hand seems like it could get rather annoying.
