Hee. That's certainly a lot better than any of the old Iname cards, but they were all really bad. This looks more like what a six-mana gold legend should be like. That death trigger looks a little worrying, but the exile clause means it's probably okay... there aren't any really huge broken Spirits to cast for free with it. A Myojin is about as good as you get, and that's nice but hardly abusive. At least, unless you're ramping this out then sacrificing it on turn 4. Which
certainly could do, but then it's more hoops... eh, it's probably fine.
I like how this works very nicely as a commander. You can let it die, then choose to exile it, and have the exiling instead put it into the command zone while still getting the free Spirit.
I don't think the Commander thing works, because then the "if you do" is false. If it was "when ~ dies, exile it. You may cast..." then it would.
Well, you can choose to put your commander in your graveyard, then exile it. The ability looks at the action of exiling it.
But you don't exile it, you put it in your command zone.
Well. I won't change it because of commander.
No reason to. I prefer this template anyway.
