bloodletting is a first take on the IP system. it works but it's wordy, especially with cards like this one. but it's pretty hard to capture the essence of an ability like octo-strike without octupling things.
also yeah bloodletting isn't really the right name for this but i needed a placeholder
I get the impression that the problem isn't the length of the mechanic, but with the ability you're granting. The +X/+X, double strike and extra combat phase don't make the card that much more interesting. I'd just drop to something like a +8/+8 bonus.
but +8 isn't the same as x8!! let me have my fun
