I'm not a fan of making gold cards out of non-gold cards, but it seemed like the best choice out of a number of bad ideas. And islandhome makes sense on this card. I mean, if your opponent had no creatures, then this card tended to attack. I'd like to see it sail right through a jungle...

In retrospect, though, I should revers 'target blocking creature whose controller controls an Island' and 'target attacking creature' for clarity purposes.

Monkeying around with this card. The Sea Clan has a couple of problems. The first is that, while U/R is appropriate, Reveka, Wizard Savant is blue/red and I don't want two cards of the same multicolored persuasion in the file. Thought about making this Red/White, but there wasn't a real reason for it, since mono-white changed nothing. The 'can't attack, cause islands' is kind of weird on mono-white, but probably not wrong on a rare flavorful card. If u/w was an option, I would have chosen that... but that color combination currently sports Narwhals and Truce (one of which needs to be cut), so yeah.

I also cut the 'opponents need to control Islands to target their stuff', because half of Islandhome seemed restriction enough. Though, at this rate, Dwarven Sea Clan threatens to be not terribly different than Heavy Ballista. Is that a bad thing?

It is a little bit odd to be so close to Heavy Ballista. I could perhaps see moving the Islands restriction back to the activated ability rather than an attacking restriction?

Also, I hate to point it out, but: Missing open quote at the start of the flavour text.

Gah! Thank you Alex. Fixing the quote.

I'm not sure what to do with this right now. I think I'm just going to sit on it and come back later with a fresh mind.

Yet one more stab at this card. Originally, I thought that a creature that deals its damage after combat was an anachronistic old way of thinking. And it kind of is. But then I realized that instead of being a Heavy Ballista that this could be a souped up Opportunist.

For a few minutes, I really wanted to give this card "{t}: Cast Inflame", but it didn't need that. Islandhome/Islandattack is now represented by Defender.

Reminds me of Whipkeeper, or Initiate of Blood. As in, there are already a couple of souped-up Opportunists. (As well as the Orzhov Euthanists / Final-Sting Faeries.) But I quite like that effect, so I have no problem with this.

I like this version.
