frankly rather boring, and linear (single-strategy). Might change
It does feel rather wrong to have a Brood Lord at uncommon. They're the top of the tech tree and terrifying unless you're prepared. This somehow feels like it lacks the wow factor.
That's a good point and brings up two things. First, mechanically, the Brood Lord is pretty similar to the Swarm Host, and I moved the previous Brood Lord's ability to that.
The second issue is how to map mana cost to rarity. The problem is that stronger SC units -> higher MTG rarity and higher SC resource costs -> higher MTG mana cost. This pushes most of the uncommons / rares / mythics to the higher CMCs. We don't want this because the game easily devolves into who draws their sixth land first. I, however, can't imagine a 6CMC cost common Starcraft creature.
What are your thoughts?
previously: Flying, first strike // When ~ enters the battlefield, put two 1/1 green Zerg creature tokens onto the battlefield.
You just have to love Mr. Jack and his amazing artwork, especially since he single-handedly gave me a lot of the Heart of the Swarm units. Viper, Brood Lord, (((Widow Mine)))
At its current incarnation, it's still pretty weak as a 5-drop (by design, I lessened the power of Zerg top-level creatures), but it's just coming off as a bit lame. I'll try to find some way of making this a bit more interesting. Maybe merge the two abilities somehow.
previous: Uncommon. 2/2, Flying //

: Put a 1/1 green Zerg creature token onto the battlefield.
Playtest results: Bumped up to rare. Made 0/3 to please SC purists who feel ~ should not have any power. Acts like a top-level enchantment rather than an offensive creature. Powerful and game-changing.
typo. tokens should have haste
+2/+0 -> +1/+0.

testing new spawn ability with sacrificial zerg
