Shouldn't the daemons have their own cards with "partner with"?

I could see that, but this makes more sense flavorfully, even though it takes a lot of words. Actually... I would be tempted to do these a split cards.

You'd need a wonky rewrite of the rules to get split cards on the battlefield, although I suppose it is flavorful that killing one kill the other. Split cards also have so little room for rules text and none for flavor text

I know, but it just feels right.

I like the idea of split cards but I agree that there just isn’t enough room for text, short of doing something like B.F.M. But at that point they might as well be two cards with partner, which does seem like the more elegant solution. Maybe if when you cast one card you get to search your library for the other and play that without paying its mana cost. Then each card has text about if one card leaves the battlefield kill the other.

You would end up having more space for text, but also filling it up with "necessary" text on every single card.
