Before Stone Idol Trap, I would have said you'd be better to just say "its splice cost is equal to its trap cost" which even if isn't official terminology, is perfectly standardised and clear. But that doesn't really work for Stone Idol Trap. Or maybe it does, if the trap cost is just 5 less the number of attacking creatures.

I'm not convinced. In an emperor game, the emperor doesn't immediately win. But on the other hand, you probably DO win, assuming you have the good sense not to deck yourself, and your opponents don't :)
