This one I certainly say "Good for you". Though that may be because I still think of Prodigal Sorcerer rather than Prodigal Pyromancer, and red blowing up blue's creatures is a time-honoured tradition.
i first thought of combat damage, but then... the punk rock got me again :D
Oh now yes, this is much more zappy. I like that it's after the blocking and it deals its damage too, pre-emptive might be a bit too good; but this way round it tempts those tokens to swarm into you and die :)
Odd that it affects ping damage too, though. Maybe "combat damage"? Or maybe, what the heck, it's a laser fence. You throw stuff at it, and it shoots you :)
changed ability from (t):target unblocked creature becomes blocked
guy's, this time u are right, it should be white... logic says laser does damage so will i use this ability on the GDI-Concrete Wall and changed the laser fence.
It's Trap Runner as an artifact. Probably wants to be uncommon. Should be white, but well, that's true of every red card in this set.
I approve of this card. It should exist in real Magic.
Asceticism and Privileged Position exist. Many people think they shouldn't. If n£v3r isn't one of them, I guess s/he's allowed to create a new version. Why it's red... well, I guess s/he stated over on Obelisk of Light that "i dont care about color mechanics" so that answers that.
ahm, the only thing i have to say about that is: whats a black or red opponent gonna do about Asceticism? it's much more dickish. ^^
Um. Er.
Um.
{gulp}
I won't say "this should be blue" because I'm going to skip directly to "This should NOT BE."
Seriously. Magic is a game with two players in it. Dropping a card that says, more or less "Ok, you cannot actually interact with my half of the board any more" is just... dickish. And yes, I know you've got Mobile Sensor Array. What's a black or red opponent gonna do about it?
Nice simple design here. Doesn't FEEL very red in its effect (more white or blue really) but hey - the lasers in the picture are quite clearly red.
Another card destined to annoy out of all proportion. You're gonna want a lot of trample and artifact destruction in the set to counter this; unless you want a lot of ground stalls.
Yeah. I can't remember if it's been printed, but it's a good ability, and white seems the best place for it. If it's repeatable, would probably be better at uncommon, but common could be ok if it fits the flavour.
added UEOT
oh thx. yes, i forgot UEOT
... You know, I can't think of one good reason why white can't do this.
It's like a disenchant; only for a really annoying ability.
Probably ought to say "UEOT", but that's just a templating quibble. (Unless it really is permanent? Then you have to remember to mark them; and probably make it cost a bit more, too.)
Oh; this one is going to get RIGHT up my opponents noses.
After its one turn in play, it's going to flicker at the end of every opposing turn, to be unsick during my turn and ready to flicker again if anyone tries to kill it.
It's probably not unfair (given it's basically a mana producing wall) but they're gonna hate it well beyond what it deserves :)
Hmmm. Armored Pegasus Courier Hawk Darklit Gargoyle ... white is all OVER the place in this area.
Seems fine to me as a 1/2 though. 2/2 was probably a bit too good. 1/1 is probably a bit weak. Freewind Falcon for example suggests white gets a bit more than flying for this cost. So.. nice solid common.
Beware! Kane LIVES!
changed 2nd ability from -3 to -2
there will defenitly be more ways to put tiberium counters into play, kane will get some fine tuning when there are more cards in the set. for now he just has to be alive. :)
Hmmm, I see the progression - but that second abiltiy being heavily negative is going to make comboing it with the ultimate really hard to pull off. Especially since it's only a +1 for the first ability.
Maybe it's a good enough ultimate to be worth the difficulty? It doesn't look it; but you DO have other ways of putting tiberium onto things...
Dunno. Mainly it's gonna get that first ability used a couple of times; and a few 1/1 creatures is never a bad thing to have.
Yeah, I like this too.
Growth Spasm/Kodamas Reach was what i had in mind, it just had to fit my universe :)
thx for the welcome.
i would not say i want to fight the power, but color in my set is much about flavor. nonetheless after ~15 years of playing mtg i try to keep the original color pie, just somtimes things have to be punk rock style ;D
dont even know if the set ever gets drafted/finished. its just to "waste" some time and merge 2 great games.
Indeedy; Hi, welcomed be.
Hi, nEv3r, how are you? I'm John-Michael. Sometimes, in the flurry to express our individual opinions of trivia and pet peeves we have about our own Magic cards, we sometimes forget to say things like that. So welcome to Multiverse.
I have a tendency to find color pie philosophy to be a very interesting and rich subject, so you'll have to excuse me if I try to call you out on breaking the pie on occasion in the future. That's just the sort of thing I find interesting, and, thus, I focus on it. I am super supportive of anyone who only uses color from a top-down flavor perspective, though. If I harp on something, just remind me you don't care, and I'll be all like "Oops. My bad."
That being said, when cards hit a public forum, the public responds in a predictable way. When I first listed my work here, I was only really interested in how my set drafted. Constructed be damned... I only ever planned to draft my sets with my friends, not make proper decks out of them. Rares, therefore, were underpowered, very narrow tools that could subvert normal draft patterns. I found that fascinating. Everyone else thought they were annoying, boorish and bad.
So I decided to reexamine my upper rarity slots and appease the masses in a way that continued to make me happy. It's just easier, for me, that way, since I can get everybody to focus on the important stuff: Are these cards fun? You may still want to fight the power, punk rock style. You get a thumbs up from me either way.
Hmm. One land tapped, and (if you have the right other cards in play) one mana available right now?
Could probably be slightly cheaper. Still, Kodama's Reach is damn good; and one mana right now (or saved up till when you need it) might be sometimes be better if you're not missing any land drops anyway; and making land--search cheaper is always risky...
So yeah, I like this.
Also, very flavourful. "Hmm, I need land, and tiberium. So. I smack a comet into the battlefield. That should sort it out."
