Destroy is rather black, red deals damage. And the picurelink is broken

Actually, since it's been brought up, destroying attacking creatures is much more white. Burning Oil deals damage to an attacking creature... but it's rather inefficient unless you can pay the white flashback cost.

Image location: http://pnmedia.gamespy.com/screenshots/pcnc/41966375.jpg Works fine for me; but you probably shouldn't be hijacking random site images like that, it can lead to badstuff.

And yeah; "destroy target creature" is black "Destroy target attacking creature" is white, and if this is on the table you're probably not going to care about untapping it; since it sits there as a theat until an opponent is willing to attack through it for (they hope) the win. (Or someone destroys it, of course)

I suppose someone could taunt you with a few small creatures a turn just to annoy you, maybe. Is that worth a special artifact to prevent though?

  1. i know destroy is black, destroy attacking is white... BUT NoD is red!
  2. i dont care about color mechanics.
  3. doesnt untap is just for the feeling.. obelisks always have a noticable recharge time.

Ok. If you;re going to use the site to design cards that don't care about MtG then you should probably say so. Otherwise people will assume that your magic cards are, you know, magic cards. (Says the guy who used the site to design dominion cards...)

Anyway. If you want to capture the recharge time in a way that matters in gameplay, it would probably be better to have this "ETB tapped unless you control..." And to make it more red, you could just have this be, I dunno "~ deals 10 damage to target attacking creature". Which is only very slightly different from destroy, after all.

It's still magic even if the colours are switched around.

But I agree it would be helpful if you could clearly see how closely sets intended to adhere to current standards of what goes in which colour.

Yeah, "10 damage to target attacking creature" is perfect, someone should have suggested that first :)

i care about mtg, but color switching has been out there long ago. also there exist a few "destroy target creature" in red.. http://magiccards.info/query?q=o%3A%22destroy+target+creature%22+c!r&v=card&s=cname but for your wellbeing it will be 10 dmg...

ETB tapped would be more like a "building" delay. doesnt feel like recharge for me.

changed destroy to 10 dmg

Hi, nEv3r, how are you? I'm John-Michael. Sometimes, in the flurry to express our individual opinions of trivia and pet peeves we have about our own Magic cards, we sometimes forget to say things like that. So welcome to Multiverse.

I have a tendency to find color pie philosophy to be a very interesting and rich subject, so you'll have to excuse me if I try to call you out on breaking the pie on occasion in the future. That's just the sort of thing I find interesting, and, thus, I focus on it. I am super supportive of anyone who only uses color from a top-down flavor perspective, though. If I harp on something, just remind me you don't care, and I'll be all like "Oops. My bad."

That being said, when cards hit a public forum, the public responds in a predictable way. When I first listed my work here, I was only really interested in how my set drafted. Constructed be damned... I only ever planned to draft my sets with my friends, not make proper decks out of them. Rares, therefore, were underpowered, very narrow tools that could subvert normal draft patterns. I found that fascinating. Everyone else thought they were annoying, boorish and bad.

So I decided to reexamine my upper rarity slots and appease the masses in a way that continued to make me happy. It's just easier, for me, that way, since I can get everybody to focus on the important stuff: Are these cards fun? You may still want to fight the power, punk rock style. You get a thumbs up from me either way.

Indeedy; Hi, welcomed be.

thx for the welcome.

i would not say i want to fight the power, but color in my set is much about flavor. nonetheless after ~15 years of playing mtg i try to keep the original color pie, just somtimes things have to be punk rock style ;D

dont even know if the set ever gets drafted/finished. its just to "waste" some time and merge 2 great games.
