Gaddgar is a plane where the past lives by theft of the present. Powerful mages of the prehistoric era pulled and perverted the time of Gaddgar's future to keep Gaddgar's past, the present for these ancient mages, from being destroyed by events beyond mortal control. While the present, the future the past steals, is present, the effects of stolen time show drain much of the present's mana and leave an almost empty past that makes the present exist as a confused, uncertain flux.

Fossil Turns A player takes one fossil turn after their regular turn. During a fossil turn, only fossil permanents on the battlefield are recognized. Permanents without the fossil supertype are not considered present. Similarly, only spells with the fossil supertype may be cast or otherwise used during the fossil turn. Only fossil lands may be played. Treat all cards on the battlefield without the fossil supertype as if they weren't in play during each player's fossil turn. Cards without the fossil supertype in zones other than the battlefield may still be interacted with, such as selecting a non-fossil card to be discarded because of a fossil spell's effect. Fossil cards are treated as if they don't exist during non-fossil turns.

Fossil Supertype The fossil supertype simply states that a card is a fossil card, and is thus only usable during a player's fossil turn.
