Eldraine leaned into the fairytale critters as general curve filling, for the flavor. But Modern Horizons had a proper ouphe (Collector Ouphe), so they clearly remember the tribe's purpose
TBH, I liked the fact that ouphes used to play with artifacts. Not so much that they destroyed them. Would have liked to see Wizards design a few ouphes that screwed with the opponent for having artifacts... like maybe gaining control of the artifact, but rewriting the text to just read ": Gain 1 life." Or making saprolings spring from opponent's artifacts.
But Bramblefort Fink seems to imply that Wizards only sees ouphes as 'small green dudes' and not much more. Ah well.
There are thirteen Ouphes and three of them hose artifacts, and those actually specifically hose activated abilities on artifacts. I just thought to expand on that theme. And enchantments and artifacts are close enough.
Though the Molder Slug did escape my memory there. : )
Mono- life gain, huh? I suppose Turn into a Pumpkin is a precedent for it. Similar to how Treasures/Gold gave mana acceleration to , I really don't care for this trend of letting go color bending as long as the effect is tied / done through artifacts.
EDIT: Derp, oh, this is literally Treasure generation, not Food generation. I supposed the point stands still pretty much.
See Phelddagrif and Questing Phelddagrif.

Alternative friendlier creative treatments: Big Sibling, Trusted Wingman, Sworn Sword.

"This isn't a game of kick-the-ouphe!" -Jaya Ballard, task mage
Ouphe's are primarily known for kicking; I thought.
'member Molder Slug? I 'member.
Aren't Ouphes specifically known for their hosing of artifacts? Not so much of enchantments.
Idk about common rarity. Just the potential memory issues alone seem enough of a reason to not recommend it at that rarity.
"Cute" design.
