What would you define as "major" ?
The plateau runs, as an event, could be represented by a sorcery. I don't think I've seen something like that.
Another thing could be the swapping made by Shallan between the two fabrials. Like, swapping/taking control of an artifact.
Her Memories/sketches, but I can't see how.
Finaly, killing a few/week ones in order to save many/strong ones is a recurring theme of "evil" lighteyes in the book (and bad guys in the next one). It could make a nice card.
I can see now where you get the blue. I'd like to point out that tapping creatures is both blue and white, though — all of the abilities but storm manipulation are either
or
.
I'll have to do some wiki research, but Kaladin doesn't really have a blue personality, right?
Syl doesn't turn into a Windblade until the very end of WoR. Is this a "wee need that number of this type of card in this set" decision ?
It sounds like you've got all the basics down. Just a few short stories you're missing. Those we won't be doing for some time. In any case, I would love your help. Would you mind going through the set, and see if there are any major events or occurances we are missing? A second pair of eyes would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your compliments. A fair amount of credit has to go to Samuel. I make whacky, flavorful effects, but he's the one who turns them into playable cards. :)
I've read all of Mistborn era 1, 2 & Secret History, the two Stormlight Archive books, Elantris and Warbreaker. But I intent to caught up on the others ASAP. I won't wander on the risky ones, don't worry. I was fumbling throught a MTG adaptaion of Mistborn when I found your work, and I must say that I'm impressed. I knew I lacked experience in MTG to do a proper adaptation, but you guys seem to do the trick. Keep it on !
Let's look at the three lashings, which make up the base of his powers.
Basic Lshing: This lashing is based on the surge of Gravity. It reorients the direction of an object in the chosen direction. This can be represented mechanically in several different ways. When Kaladin uses it on himself, it gives him flying, which is blue and white. They can also be used to exile creatures (white) and tap creatures or remove them from combat. (blue and white again)
Full Lashing: This is the surge of Adhesion, and can be used to bind objects together. This is mechanically represented as tapping creatures, which is a blue ability.
Reverse Lashing: This is another use of Gravity, bulling low mass objects towards another object you are touching. When this is used with projectiles, it constitutes damage prevention. This is a white ability.
He also has a fourth ability, a specific result of the combination of the two surges he controls. We don't know exactly what it is yet, but the ending to WoR strongly implies it involves controlling the winds and riding the storms. This is an unequivocally blue ability, as blue is the color of storms and wind. All in all, it comes out
.
Awesome! I'm glad you like it. I'm curious, how much of the Cosmere have you read? I ask because these sets will include major spoilers for their respective books.
Hmm. His abilities seem feasibly white to me, right down to your mechanical interpretation. Is there a blue aspect to his character that I'm forgetting?
I was wandering on the Internet, looking for Cosmere fan-made cards, and I found you. My, what a good surprise. Just wanted to let you know that I love what you're doing here, I'll be following you as you progress. Let me know if a non-cosmere, non-magic expert can be of any use ;) Cheers from france~
I changed the name, because the other two lashing cards don't refer to the powers by their specific names.
His powers, especially his adhesion abilities. Keep in mind that his full color identity is Jeskai, focused on Boros. He will likely have a three color identity in future versions.
What's blue about Kaladin?
Power and toughness added, 2 life --> 3 life.
Cool. Thanks.
