Will something like this ever see print using current card power levels? The only thing I can compare this to is the horribly broken Enlightened Tutor. I still feel this is too strong though. On the card itself, as long as there is no single artifact that is much stronger than the rest (hello (((Tactical Nuke)))), this should allow new tactical options. Will probably also give Terran an Ancient Den reprint or something.Ok, I realized it's broken, since it can be blinked. What if it's a death trigger? But that makes no sense at all from a flavor perspective. Hmm. Need more thought.
potentially horribly broken card. Comments please :(
Reminds me of Flamekin Harbinger. So theoretically not necessarily broken if the artifacts in the "format" are carefully controlled.
Who'll be doing the blinking? I thought it was Protoss who'd be blinking in this set, so that doesn't sound like a problem as long as it stays in your controlled environment.
"Blinking Humans. Get off my space-lawn."
You still need to draw the artifacts; after all. Potentially hilariously-awesome with clash; mind you.
This seems printable to me. If you're really worried; upcost it by one. That I'd probably still run it at that cost suggests it'd be fine there.
Alex: I actually used the elemental harbingers as a template for the text. In the set, it's quite funny to use this and be hit by a (((Sensor Array))) right after. I know it's balanced in this set, but I'd also prefer to let its power level stand in the broader Magic context. Would Wizards print something like this, given what they know about Vintage or the Legacy environment?
Vitenka: I know,
would be the perfect cost for this, but I really can't increase it because it has to be parallel with (((Probe))) and Drone, the workers of the other two races.
previous: When ~ enters the battlefield, you may search your library for an artifact card, reveal it, then shuffle your library and put that card on top of it.
Changed from enlightened tutor ability to mana guy. I don't know whether this is within color pie. I mean, he accelerates you, but in a really loose fashion, and in a real deck he even prevents you from casting weird stuff. (Here, though, he can both salvage and put down morph creatures).
I also gave him a bigger butt, which real SC players will appreciate.
Desperately needs flavor text.
playtest results: Needn't have worried, this is a good card. I love the fact that it directly supports morph and salvage, yet fantastically useless when casting anything below 4cmc. Strange how this plus a Medic makes it a legit defensive option, blocking Zerg all day.
