koine: dialect that spreads to become common language of a region
quantometer: instrument for measuring proportions of elements in metallic samples
Sooo... a device for measuing the amount of metal in a regional slang? Some kind of headbanger? Or... maybe on mirrodin, despite having coated the world in oil, the phyrexians are having issues with the metal making a comeback. And they watch the populace for signs of its return.
Well, I like that concept, but how the heck is it a magic card? Inverse metlacraft maybe? That would almost certainly be a crappy mechanic to actually play (because it's pure metagame - sideboard fodder at best) unless the set had a lot of "Turn opponents stuff to artifacts" which would be... really weird in the flavour I proposed just up there.
Eh; it fits the name and does function. Maybe jazz it up as an up-up mechanic? Do one thing if they have the artifacts, the other if not? That might be playable.

Huh. Yeah that works
