Huh. That colloborate being activatable by anyone gives it an odd tension. You kinda want to have lots of creature types to pull it back yourself; but if you don't, then there's no get-out clause.
Have you considered replacing "spell or ability" with just "spell"? It's the new thing to do and for a reason: Abilities are far less consistent in availability than spells and changing the trigger condition to not care about abilities removes an interaction that can be tricky to take into consideration for balance.
Regarding collaborate: I don't know whether the flavor description has evolved since I last read them, but I did not get the impression the different races work together to any particular extent.
