See Glass-Lobber Engine.
I came up with these guys for a desert set that has long since been scrapped. The idea was that a certain faction of Nomads in the set would turn sand into molten glass to fling at their enemies. Since the sand on the set's plane was alive, the molten sand would also briefly be alive -- hence, elementals that die at EOT.
The 3/1 elemental is a staple of red. I do not like it having flying, however. I get that they're created by a colorless card, but they feel red, and red shouldn't get flying like this.
The idea in the original was that they were being thrown -- hence flying.
Since this is for home-less cards though, it should be looked at minus its associated flavor and setting -- and from that perspective you are, of course, correct (Even if I'm not a hundred percent sure what you mean by "like this"). I suppose I could change it to a Spark Elemental, though.
