Rise of the Runelords is the first set in the Pathfinder block. It is based on the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path from Paizo Publishing. The set introduces new mechanics including: Confer.

The seven sins play an important role in this set. As such, they have been assigned to specific color combinations and will have mechanics that flavorfully match the sin.

Lust - primary: RG, secondary: B Pride - primary: GW, secondary: B Sloth - primary: WU, secondary: B Wrath - primary: RW, secondary: G Gluttony - primary: GU, secondary: W (improvement of creatures, through Confer mechanic and enchant creature spells) Envy - primary: UR, secondary: B (temporary and permanent stealing of permanents, particularly creatures; copying of spells, particularly of other players) Greed - primary: B, secondary: UR (card draw tempered by drawbacks in each color: greed, loot, frantic)
